Deputy Madness enjoys impressive encore

Numbers are in and it’s official: Deputy Madness 2021 was a big hit.

North Callaway activities director Kevin O’Neal was able to put one heck of a North Callaway Staff / Alumni team together for the March 20 event, collecting the 54-43 win over the Callaway Sheriff’s Office team to keep the Deputy Madness trophy at the school.

Organizers were happy to see the overwhelming support - and were touched by seeing all the smiles and hearing the laughs.

“This event wasn’t about the basketball game or the players,” said event spokesperson/co-organizer Zachary Carey, “but instead it was all about the North Callaway students and their achievements."

With Deputy Madness 2021, there were 34 sponsors that wanted to become a part of the event, graciously donating to the event and the North Callaway DARE Program. And all, told, Deputy Madness 2021 raised a little over $6,000, compared to last year’s then-impressive total of about $900.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled of the turn out this year and want to give a huge ‘thank you’ to the community, sponsors, and the North Callaway School District,” said Carey.
