Jack Hudson

Jackie Lee Hudson, 75, of Mexico, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020, at the Missouri Veterans Home.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Forman officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation is Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Jack was born on December 8, 1944 in Mexico, the son of Ralph Edward and Ethel Lucile (Garrett) Hudson. On December 29, 1967 in Rush Hill, he married Lura Lee Painter. She passed away on August 26, 2019.

Mr. Hudson was a 1962 graduate of Mexico High School. After being drafted in 1964, he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He had worked at McGee Packing Company for many years and retired from Crown Linen.

Jack was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was an avid runner who completed 97 marathons. He loved the outdoors, fishing, cutting firewood, gardening and coaching his kids in Optimist baseball.

Survivors include three children, Jack (Krista) Hudson of Bremerton, Washington, Shelly Carver (Justin Wilson) of Hartsburg and Travis (Crystal) Hudson of Fairbanks, Alaska; three grandchildren, Alexis Thompson, Maranda Hudson and Lauren Hudson, all of Bremerton, Washington; one great-grandchild, Julian Thompson; three brothers, Tom Hudson of Mexico, Russell Hudson of Mexico and Gary Hudson of Mexico; two sisters, Patricia Early of Mexico and Barbara (Wendell) Stieferman of Jefferson City; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Lura, Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ethel Hudson; and one sister, Ruth Lincoln.
