Lois Ada Keith

Lois Ada Keith, 74, of Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021 at Pin Oaks Living Center.

Visitation is Friday, Feb. 26, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lois was born on June 21, 1946 in Wayne, Mich., the daughter of Charles Henry and Alice Ada (Petraska) Opificius. She was baptized on July 28, 1946. On Aug. 27, 1971 in Michigan, she married Marion Lester Keith. He passed away on Jan. 15, 1995.

Mrs. Keith graduated from Romulus (Michigan) High School in 1964. She worked for almost 40 years as a legal secretary for Brett, Erdel, Owings, Tanzey and Newton.

Lois enjoyed golfing, fishing and gardening. She had a huge love for animals, especially birds and dogs.

Survivors include two step children, Kevin (Lori) Keith and Scott Keith, all of New Bloomfield; four grandchildren, Elizabeth (Ryan) Milhollin of Jefferson City, Michael Keith of New Bloomfield, Sarah Keith of Ashland, and Hadley Keith of New Bloomfield; two great-grandchildren, Liberty and Keatyn Milhollin; nephew, Charlie (Karen) Pesceyne of Michigan; aunt, Thelma Poet of Michigan; and cousin, Jim Poet of Michigan.

In addition to her husband, Marion L. Keith, Lois was preceded in death by step daughter, Diane Keith; parents, Charlie and Alice Opificius; sister, Shirley “Annie” (Opificius) Pesceyne; and one brother, Clayton Opificius.

Memorial donations may be made to the Mexico Animal Shelter. They may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
