Mexico girls win team title at Laker Invitational

Running in ideal conditions Saturday, the Mexico cross country team recorded some of its best times to date at the Laker Invitational in Camdenton.

The girls team won the team crown out of nine schools, while the boys team placed sixth out of 12 squads.

The Bulldogs had four medalists overall, led by three on the girls side. Moenaisa Sidique ran a team-best 22:14 and placed 15th overall. She was followed by teammates Kalea Henneberry and Anna Fairchild who placed 16th and 17th, respectively. Henneberry’s time was 22:19, while Fairchild’s was 22:23.

Also competing for the Mexico girls were Sidney Turlington (21st, 22:34), Miriam Gleeson (52nd, 24:47) and Haley Chastain (60th, 25:30).

The lone medalist on the boys team was Thomas Peuster, who placed 15th in 17:43.

Other Bulldogs who competed were Geoffrey Penn (28th, 18:26), Guy Fairchild (30th, 18:31), Tyler Quinlan (34th, 18:43), Nathan Bull (35th, 18:44) and Race Azdell (63rd, 19:47).

Mexico also had four boys in the junior varsity race. Emanuel Ramirez-Rodriguez had the best finish in fourth in 20:11. Also running were Mekhi Owens (fifth, 20:14), William Bingham (seventh, 20:34) and Micah DaVolt (11th, 20:44).
