Patricia K. Kroninger

Patricia K. Kroninger, 75, of Quincy, Ill., died Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, at 12:29 a.m. in Blessing Hospital.

Patricia was born May 2, 1945 in Mexico, a daughter of Edwin and Agnes Abele Seckler. She married Larry L. Kroninger on Oct. 20, 1962 in Tucson, Ariz. He preceded her in death on May 29, 2015.

Patricia spent her early years as a stay at home mom and a homemaker. After the children were grown, she continued her education in bookkeeping and accounting. She became the full time bookkeeper for her son's business, Chandake, LLC. Patricia also worked part time as a caregiver at her daughter's business, Comfort Keepers. In her spare time, Patricia enjoyed crocheting, and she made many blankets for her family, including baby blankets for all of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patricia also liked to travel, especially with her husband, Larry. They would take annual trips to Colorado and over the years they traveled all across the country. Their last adventure was a vacation in Tahiti. She also enjoyed researching her family's genealogy, reading, and gardening. Most of all, Patricia loved spending time with her family, especially when she was cooking for them at holiday gatherings at her home. She will always be remembered as a caring and compassionate peacekeeper, who served as a wonderful example to her family, whom she loved with all of her heart.

Patricia had been a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Troy.

Survivors include three children: Larry E. (Lydia) Kroninger of Troy, Anthony E. (Annette) Kroninger of Bowling Green, and Jackie Walker of Quincy, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; three sisters: Jo Ann (Kenneth) McCormick of Gladstone, Ore., Dorothy (Gary) Haynes of Benton City, and Kathy Willingham of Mexico; a brother, Edwin (Charlotte) Seckler of Cosco, Maine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
