Four Mexico wrestlers took part in the Eldon Girls Wrestling Invitational on Wednesday and three came away with medals.

Abbigail Drew had the most successful day. After losing her opening round match in the 127 weight class to Jazmin Garrett of Monett by major decision, she swept the next two encounters.

Drew dropped Chelsea Campapiano of Camdenton at 5:29 to earn a fall. She then took down Marshfield’s Rylee Wilson at the 1:31 mark.

The round three win by fall gave her second in the class.

Wrestling at 143, Choice Foster also picked up a win to split on the day. She lost to Macie James of Marshfield by fall to open the tournament after a first round bye. Her win came against Jefferson City’s Maira Wilder, who had to exit the match with an injury.

That gave her second in the small group.

Katherine Bowen’s second place in the 107 class came by default, but she put in a solid effort. Only two girls were entered at that weight, so she faced off against Camdenton’s Taylor Mustain twice, losing both by fall.

The Bulldogs’ 151 wrestler had the toughest day. In a crowded field stacked with talent, Iman battled through five matches. She lost all by fall, but came away with 3 points and a sixth place finish.

The Eldon Invitational involved 10 schools, including the large squads from Jefferson City and Marshfield.
