Centralia piles on wins to start season in Monroe City

The victories came often for Centralia track and field on Thursday night.

In the teams’ first meet of the season, Centralia won 19 events — 12 for the Panthers and seven for the Lady Panthers.

Coming off a third-place state trophy, the girls were led by Kenedee Moss, who won the 1,600- and 3,200-meter run. Kaelyn Walters won the 100-meter dash and was third in the triple jump, Shelby Lewis won the 200-meter dash along with taking second in the 400, Ryenn Gordon was first in the 100-meter hurdles and third in the pole vault, Harper Forshee was first in the javelin, and the 4x200 relay team took first. Becca Erisman was second in the 300-meter hurdles, Kassena Ridgel was second in the discus, and the 4x100 and 4x800 relay teams each were third.

For the boys, Ethan Ross won three events, including the 100, 400 and the pole vault. Rohan Holiman won the 800 and 1600, Dryst Bostick won the 3200 and javelin, Cayden Dunn won the 110- and 300-meter hurdles, Beau Hatton won the high jump and was third in the 110 hurdles, Tilmon Sontheimer won the discus and 4x800 relay team took first. Eli Hill was second in the 800, Wesley Robertson was second in the 1600 and 3200, and Jameson Cooper was second in the discus, shotput and javelin. Taking third was Jesse Caballero in the 100, Jacob Beard in the 200, Carter Moss in the 800 and 1600, Peyton Bryson in the high jump, Logan Rosenfelder in the long jump, Josh Russell in the discus, shotput and javelin, and the 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams.

Community R-6, Van-Far, Paris at Paris Open on Friday

Community R-6: The Trojans were second in the 4x100 relay and third in the 4x200 and 4x400. The Lady Trojans were third in the 4x400 relay and Kat Meyer was fourth in the 400-meter dash.

Van-Far: For the Indians, DaQuan Martin was third in the discus and shotput. For the Lady Indians, McKenna Engh-Hoffman was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles and fifth in the javelin, and Erin Childs was fifth in the 3,200-meter run.

Paris: Mairyn Kinnaman won the 1600 and 3200 for the Lady Coyotes, the girls 4x800 relay took first, Ava Crain was second in the 400 and pole vault and third in the 800, and Sophia Crusha was second in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles. For the Coyotes, Landen Chapman won the 1600 and 3200 and Colton Kendrick won the pole vault. The 4x200 and 4x800 relay teams were second, and taking third was Kaleb Romans in the 200, Chase Graupman in the 3200, Elijah Reynolds in the 300 hurdles, Cayden Poddany in the high jump, and Brad Skinner in the javelin.

North Callaway, Missouri Military Academy at New Bloomfield Wildcat Relays on Friday

North Callaway: The Ladybirds won the team competition with 171 points (Fayette 142.5) and the Thunderbirds were second with 113 points behind New Bloomfield’s 195.5. 

For the Ladybirds, Grace Rasmussen won the 1,600-meter run, Pressley Schmauch won the 3,200-meter run and Madyson Gordon won the pole vault. Coming in second was Violet Martin in the 200-meter dash, Rasmussen in the 1600, Megan Schmidt in the pole vault, Kymorie Myers in the discus, and the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x800 relay teams. Taking third were Lia Bondurant in the high jump, Rachelle Atterberry in the long jump, and the 4x400 relay team.

For the Thunderbirds, Dane Kemp won the high jump, and Lane Kimbley was first in the triple jump. Coming in second were Levi Drake in the 800 and 1600, Isiah Craighead in the javelin and the 4x400 relay team. Taking third were Chance Cunningham in the 400, Kimbley in the 300 hurdles, Austin Brown in the high jump, Collin Moore in the triple jump, and the 4x100 relay team.

Missouri Military Academy: The Colonels finished third with 112.5 points.

Ryan Miles won the 800, and the 4x200 relay team took first. Coming in second were Kyran Carter in the 100, Alexander McBride in the 200 and the 4x100 relay team. Taking third were Carter in the 200, Aaron Elford in the 110 hurdles, and the 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams.
