Marjorie Ann (Kysar) Fierge, 89, of Perry, passed away Sunday morning, Dec. 20, 2020.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Dec. 23, at Arnold Funeral Home, with Larry Baitinger officiating. Burial followed in South Fork Cemetery in Santa Fe.

Marjorie was born Aug., 11, 1931, the daughter of Cecil Kysar and Lucille Langley. She married Cecil Howard “Pete” Fierge in April of 1949.

Larry Joe Orr, 78, of Mexico, passed away on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at the University of Missouri Hospital.

There will be a private memorial service.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Larry was born June 2, 1942, in Vandalia, the son of James Lafe and Edith Marie (Ellesberry) Orr.

The Vandalia Hobby Shop, golf, model trains, gambling, dog and horse races are some of the things Larry enjoyed. He loved traveling and always made sure everyone was having a good time.

Darlene Leach, 88, of Mexico, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital-Audrain.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 21, at Arnold Funeral Home. Burial followed in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation is from 2:30 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Darlene was born on Oct. 22, 1932, the daughter of Ottmer and Ada Mae (Jackson) Davis. She married Charley L. Leach on May 1, 1948, in Mexico. Darlene and Charley were married 73 years.

Ami Allision (Erdel) Clayton, 50, of Mexico, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, at her home.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at Arnold Funeral Home.

Visitation is Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services at Arnold Funeral Home.

Ms. Clayton was born on Nov. 11, 1970, in Mexico, the daughter of Janice (Powell) Erdel and Donald Erdel.

Louis Smithey

Louis Smithey, 88, of Mexico, passed away at 6:06 a.m. on Dec. 16, 2020 at Pin Oaks Living Center.

Louis was born on Nov. 5, 1932, a son of Stockwell and Anna Maud (Talley) Smithey.

He graduated from Mexico High School in 1950 and then served in the Army at Fort Sill, Okla. from 1952 to 1955.

On Feb. 20, 1955 he married Mary Jane Martin and she survives at the farm where they lived for 65 years, celebrating this anniversary in February.

Adam Jonathan Moore

Adam Jonathan Moore, 33, of Kansas City, passed away on Monday, Dec.14, 2020 at North Kansas City Hospital, as a result of injuries received in an auto accident on Dec. 7.

He was born June 7, 1987 in Shawnee Mission, Kan. the son of John E. Moore and the late Vicky S. (Coil) Moore, now of Auxvasse.

Roy Whanger

Roy Whanger, 96, previously of Auxvasse was called to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020.

He was born in Mokane, on Oct. 15, 1924 to the late Walter K. Whanger and the late Marguerite (Stauffer) Whanger. He grew up learning the value of hard work by pulling his weight on the family farm.
On Oct. 25, 1948, Roy was united in marriage to Ruth (Laws) Whanger. She preceded him in death on Oct. 24, 2014. To this union, three children were born: Darrell, Ron, and Joyce

Mildred Jean Roe

Mildred Jean Roe, 94 of Mexico passed away at 1:15 p.m., Dec. 14, 2020, at the Valley View Nursing Home of Moberly.

Mildred was born on Nov. 30, 1926, in Bluffton, the daughter of Everett and Edna (Franklin) Young. On May 19, 1946, in Mexico, she married Eldon S. Roe. Mr. Roe preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1983.

Mrs. Roe was a shoe cutter for Florsheim Shoe in Mexico for many years, as well as being a farm wife in Mexico. After her husband’s passing, Mrs. Roe lived alone in Mexico, until she moved to Valley View in 2013.
