The Audrain County 4-H Meat Judging team finished second at the University of Missouri Extension 4-H State Meats Judging Contest on Feb. 20, in a field of 45 from across the state.
Tucker Robnett, Pacey Cope and Lance Fort make up the team. All three placed in the top 10 individually. Robnett was second, Fort sixth and Cope ninth.
First place went to Monroe County.
“This year’s contest looked different from most, however, we were able to provide a great line-up of classes for youth to judge while following safety protocol.” said Maria Calvert, MU Extension State 4-H Agriculture and Natural Resources Educator.
Working in partnership with the MU Meat Science Program, contestants were provided the opportunity to develop and hone their judging skills, and explore future career and educational opportunities.
