Sarah M. Hunter, 36, of Columbia, sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident on Thursday, May 27 on Highway 22, a half mile west of Mexico.
According to the Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when her eastbound 2010 Dodge Journey hydroplaned, ran off the right side of the roadway, and struck a bridge rail. Her passenger, Shawn Hunter, 37, of Columbia, received moderate injuries.
Both were wearing a seatbelt at the time and she had insurance.
The accident was reported at 9:50 a.m. They were both transported to Audrain County Community Hospital by Audrain County ambulance.
