ACHD launches new healthcare directory

Posted

Finding available healthcare services in the Audrain County area just got a bit easier for Audrain County residents with the release by the Audrain County Health Department (ACHD) of a Healthcare Directory on its website.

“This grew out of a request by the Audrain County Commission immediately after the closing of the Audrain Community Hospital in March,” ACHD Administrator and CEO Craig Brace said. “They felt it was important that we develop some sort of listing that gave area residents a guide as to available healthcare services in Audrain County.”

The design of the directory was handled by 54 Design Group and the collection of entries in the directory was tasked to two members of the ACHD staff.]

“We had our Nurse Navigator and COVID vaccination outreach coordinator Jennie Beamer and our public information officer Chris Newbrough compile the listing of services in the county,” Brace said. “Through their efforts, we believe we have a good representation of those health services offered by different medical entities in our directory.”

Brace says accessing the directory is as easy as turning on your laptop or mobile device.
“All you have to do is go to myachd.org once your choice of accessing the Internet is powered up,” he said. “Then look for the Healthcare Directory at the top of the main page and click on it to take you to the directory page. From there, you can choose what type of service you are looking for and, find the contact information for those providing that service in Audrain County.”

Audrain County Presiding Commissioner Alan Winders says it’s through cooperation that this directory was able to be put together so quickly.

“We have an outstanding partnership with the ACHD and, when the commission asked the health department to spearhead this endeavor, we knew it would be handled in a quick and efficient manner,” Winders said.

“I’d like to thank the health department for realizing the gravity of the situation facing Audrain County. Their willingness to jump in and help as much as possible really helped to alleviate residents’ worries and questions as quickly as possible.”
Area healthcare providers that are not listed in the directory at the present time can access a form to submit their information by going to the directory page at myachd.org and clicking the “Submit Online” button.
