Voter turnout for the April 6 election was 11.59 percent as 1,737 ballots were cast out of 14,982 registered voters, according to unofficial results. Audrain County voters supported Proposition 1, which extends a quarter-cent sales tax for 10 years. The funding can only be used for the replacement of small road structures and maintenance of bridges. Both Mexico City Council incumbents, Vicki Briggs and Chris Miller, were both re-elected. Miller had 664 votes and Briggs had 591. Other candidates were Rich Gold (143) and Joshua Price (135). In the race for Laddonia mayor, Gary Garnett received 68 votes to Glenn Jensen's 40. In a five-person race for the Mexico School Board, Keith Louder and Marci Minor were the top vote-getters with 919 and 726 votes, respectively, and won the two seats. Others in the race were Scott Joseph Nichols (524), Andrew B. Craig (160) and Randolph Scott Reinwald (74). See below for the complete unofficial results.
