Two Mexico residents and an Auxvasse resident sustained injuries in a three-vehicle accident at 5:34 p.m. March 31 on westbound Highway 70, Warren County, west of Route W.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when the westbound 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Wray T. Collins, 33, of St. Charles, was traveling behind the westbound 2018 Jeep Renegade, driven by Darlene E. Huffstetler, 52, of Auxvasse. Huffstetler was following behind the westbound 2018 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Jackson D. Kempf, 22, of Kansas City.

Collins was following the Renegade too closely and was unable to slow down in time and struck the rear end of the Renegade, which then struck the rear end of the Silverado.

Huffstetler sustained moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to SSM Health, St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis. Robert E. Chambers, 67,and Glenda J. Chambers, 68, both of Mexico, sustained minor injuries and were also taken to St. Joseph. All three were passengers in the Renegade and all three were wearing seatbelts.

The Malibu received moderate damage and was towed from the scene; the Renegade was totaled and towed; and the Silverado received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

April 1

A 16-year-old juvenile male from Mexico sustained moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 11:55 p.m. April 1 at Audrain Road 930 at Audrain Road 9931.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred as the northbound 2004 Dodge Ram 3500, driven by the juvenile, traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a tree, and overturned.

The youth, who was wearing his seatbelt, was transported to University Hospital. The vehicle received extensive damage and was towed from the scene.

April 2

Mary S. Branham, 78, of Paris, Mo. sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 6:35 p.m. April 2 on Highway 19 at Highway 154 at Perry Junction, Ralls County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when the northbound 2020 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Branham, failed to yield while making a left turn and struck the southbound 2016 Cadillac ATS, driven by Gregory W. Palmer, 51, of Quincy, Ill.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

Branham was transported to University Hospital, Columbia, by survival flight.
