Five members of the Auxvasse Lions Club attended the 2023 Missouri Lions State Convention in Branson last week. Lion’s International first vice president, Lion Dr. Patti Hill from Canada was in attendance and updated the Missouri Lions about what the organization is doing to make the world a better place. Lions have programs to combat diabetes, vision problems, hunger, childhood cancer and the environment. Local members attending the convention were David Gilman, Shirley Burnett, Cindy Mirts, Betty Knipp and Donal Knipp. Lion David Gilman received a Presidential Medal from Lions International President Brian Sheehan for the work he has done in the local community and Lion Betty Knipp received a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship Award from Lions Clubs International Foundation for the work she has done locally and in the district.
