Centralia raised approximately 650 flags for the veterans day holiday. Though it was originally estimated to be 628 flags, volunteers explained more have recently come in. The flags raised honor veterans who have passed. Their families can purchase a flag in their honor as well as a name plate which volunteers snap on to the flags in alphabetical order. The flags went up Nov. 7 and were taken down Nov. 12. Participants in the annual Veterans Day Run wound through the cemetery which was adorned with more flags than one could even begin to comprehend.
