Bonnie Catherine Sims, 86, of Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, at Monroe Manor in Paris.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021 at 2 p.m. with Kevin Wilkerson conducting the service.
Mrs. Sims was born on Nov. 9, 1934 in Mexico, the daughter of Virgil and Daisy (Davis) Williams. On Nov. 10, 1973, in Mexico, she married Walter William “Bill” Sims.
Bonnie had several hobbies that included going to hot-rod car shows, sprint car races, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball and traveling. One of her favorite trips was a trip along the fabled Route 66. Some of Bonnie’s most precious moments were spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one step daughter, Susie (Rusty O’Connor) Gorham of Mexico; three step sons, Steve (Dixie) Sims of Mexico, Mike (Kathy) Sims of Mexico, Mark Sims of Mexico; one sister, Doris Johnson of Mexico; 12 grandchildren, Trampus Sims, Derek Sims, Eric (Mallory) Sims, Tanna VanBoening, Haley VanBoening, Kalob (Sami) Sims, Darrian (Andrew Jahn) Sims, Lindsay (Kenneth Mayfield) Inlow, Courtney (David Jensen) Inlow, Shaun Williams, Bri Goff, Dakota Williams; 12 great-grandchildren; Eliora Sims, Seraiah Sims, Connor Myers, Emelyn Myers, Clayton Sims, Lukas Sims, Carl Sims, Bryce Inlow, Kinleigh Mayfield, Millie Sims, Ever Sims, Brantley Boner and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Daisy Williams; her husband, Bill Sims; four brothers, Clyde, Gerald, Donald, Ronnie; seven sisters, Arlene, Nadine, Barbara, Wanda, Nonie, Gail and Donna.
