Brenda Dean LaBarbera Worstell, 66, of Columbia, passed away on Friday Dec. 4, 2020 at University Hospital. She was born on June 20, 1954 in Ochiltree County,Texas; a daughter of the late Bonnie LaBarbera.
Brenda was a humble and tireless servant, always preferring others yet never seeking recognition, her gift of hospitality was unsurpassed. She was kind, welcoming and generous to all, and many considered her a second mother. Whether sharing her knowledge and experience (no one could fold a fitted sheet like Brenda) or her time, she held nothing back. She will be most remembered for her love of her husband and their family. This love, highlighted in every Nana date, was simply a reflection of her love for Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior.
Brenda was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Charles Worstell, Columbia; two sons: Tim Worstell (Amaris) of Columbia, Jon Worstell (Sarah) of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter Sara Boul (Steve) of Columbia; two brothers, Tony LaBarbera (Mary) of Columbia, Mike LaBarbera (Connie) of Ashland, and a sister Amy Crowe (Matt) of Kansas City. Also surviving are 10 beautiful grandchildren: Alivia Worstell, Haley Worstell, Madison Worstell, Stanley Worstell, Avery Worstell, Sophia Worstell, Chloe Boul, Charlize Boul, Caelan Boul, and Catriana Boul.
Friends will be received from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 7, 2020 at Christian Fellowship, 4600 Christian Fellowship Road, Columbia.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020 at The Crossing Church, 3615 Southland Drive, Columbia.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
