Bryan Douglas Crawford

Bryan Douglas Crawford entered into the Kingdom of his Savior and lifelong friend Jesus on June 18, 2025, after a three and a half year battle with cancer.

Bryan, age 65, was born on January 24, 1960, in Hatton, Missouri to parents Glenn and Polly (Iman) Crawford.

He was raised in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Hatton where he began a personal relationship with God. He served faithfully, leading youth group, assisting with building projects and many other things until 2004, when the Lord called him to help start a new church, The Lighthouse in Kingdom City, MO. At the Lighthouse Bryan led the building project, played bass guitar for the worship team and served as Keeper.

Bryan graduated from North Callaway High school in 1978 along with Pam Smithee. They were married June 22, 1979. They continued to live and farm in Hatton. They were blessed with three children, Brandon, Kayanna and Tanner. Bryan considered his kids his greatest achievement in life. They in turn have given Bryan and Pam 10 grandchildren, a source of tremendous joy for he and Pam.

In 1980 Bryan began working for Merck, where he worked with the cattle doing veterinary research. He retired from Merck in 2013. Upon retiring Bryan helped each of his three kids build houses with the help of his brother, David and his sons and son-in-law. All of these were within one mile of where he and Pam live. Bryan has enjoyed camping with family and friends, playing on the church softball team, riding motorcycles and working daily on his farm with his cattle. He loved sharing his love of the land with his kids and grandkids.

Bryan is known in his family, his church and his community as one who always responded to a need for help. He has modeled what a true servant leader is. He has been a giver all of his life, wanting to make a difference for whoever he could. He and Pam have celebrated family in many ways including his Christmas scavenger hunts to teach about family history and their Sunday night suppers to gather the kids and grandkids together and many family trips.

Bryan faced his final battle in life with tremendous faith and courage. He submitted himself to the will of his heavenly Father. Many wonderful memories were made in the last three and a half years and he will reap his heavenly reward, where he will continue in his service to his Lord.

He is survived by his wife Pam, his children Brandon (Jess) Crawford, Kayanna (Clay) Hardesty, and Tanner (Marena) Crawford and his grandchildren Bane, Beckett, Breckley, and Boone Crawford, Della, Isla, and Mila Hardesty, Charlotte, Jackson and Benjamin Crawford. He is also survived by his sister Sue Mills, his brother, David (Kathy) Crawford, sister in laws Debbie Guibor and Tara Jones Smithee, and brother-in-law, Darrin Smithee; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Polly Crawford, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Dale and Karen Smithee, and his brother-in-law, Preston Mills.

Services for Bryan will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Lighthouse Church, Kingdom City, MO.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with memorial service at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Jason Jordon.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Lighthouse Church.
