The Bulldogs took part in the Spartan Invitational in Moberly on Friday and Saturday, losing all three games but offering several highlights.
A slow start on Friday cost Mexico as they dropped the opener 7-0. On Saturday morning against Mid-Buchanan, Shelby Kennemore found her way into a dangerous space late in the first half, but her shot zoomed over the bar. The Bulldogs fell 5-0.
Tessa Haefling put on a show in the afternoon. Capital City sent a barrage of shots on goal. Although the Bulldogs’ defense conceded six in the 6-0 loss, Haefling recorded over 30 saves.
The tournament started a day after the Bulldogs’ lost a tight one in Fulton, 3-0.
“Playing four games in three days was something we haven’t done before and they had a lot of energy even at the end,” said assistant coach Sarah Olson.
