Carman Shane Newbrough, 49, of Huntsville, passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 10, 2021.

Shane was born April 11, 1972 in Columbia to Carl and Opaldene (Maupin) Newbrough. He was a 1990 graduate of Mexico High School and attended Avila College in Kansas City, where he played college baseball.

Shane was a member of the Southside Christian Church in Mexico. He loved playing baseball as a youngster and all the way through college. After college, Shane took a job working as a canine handler for the Moberly Police Department. He ultimately retired from law enforcement in favor of his first love, farming. Shane was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed working the farm with his dad, brother, and son. He was also a founder and lead singer for the southern rock group “Rock Road Rebels”.

Shane was preceded in death by his mother, Opaldene; his paternal grandparents, Wilbur and Pearl Newbrough; and his maternal grandparents, Paul and Opal Maupin.

Survivors include his children, Hailey Newbrough of Springfield, and Wyatt Newbrough of Huntsville; his father and stepmother, Carl and Pauline Newbrough of Moberly; sister, Diane Rhea and her husband, Rich of Huntsville; brother, Wade Newbrough and his wife, Melody of Shawneetown; niece, Gwyn Newbrough of Shawneetown; nephews, Zakk Newbrough of Springfield, Jason Conklin and family of Kansas City, Joshua Conklin and family of Pulaski, Tenn., and Jacob Conklin and family of Springfield; several great-nieces and nephews; friend, Kelly Patton; extended family; and many good friends.

Services celebrating Shane’s life were held on Sunday, May 16, at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Shane’s honor are suggested to the Shane Newbrough Memorial Fund, c/o Macon Atlanta Bank, 1513 N. Missouri St., Macon, MO 63552, for his daughter and son.
