Panthers maintain attack in 66-43 win vs Brookfield
The first quarter of Tuesday’s game for the Centralia boys seemed like it would be a high-scoring affair.
The Panthers maintained their offense after leading Clarence Cannon Conference foe Brookfield 24-20 after eight minutes to eventually win 66-43. Centralia (11-8, 2-1 CCC) held Brookfield (4-18, 0-3 CCC) to single digits in the second and third quarter, leading 38-27 at halftime.
Boen Zimmerman had 14 points and five rebounds for Centralia, Cullen Bennett followed with 13 points and seven rebounds, Noah Kropf had 11 points and seven rebounds, and Travis Brooks had six points and two steals.
Centralia hosts conference foe Highland (3-16, 2-1 CCC) at 7:30 p.m. Friday prior to going to conference opponent Macon (16-3, 3-0 CCC) at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Lady Panthers score from everywhere in 57-30 win vs Brookfield
The Centralia girls received scoring contributions from many on Tuesday night.
The Lady Panthers defeated Clarence Cannon Conference foe Brookfield 57-30, having three — almost four players — score in double figures for the team’s first conference victory.
Jozelynn Bostick led Centralia (17-3, 1-2 CCC) with 12 points, four assists and three steals, Raegan Anderson finished with 11 points and knocked down three 3-pointers, Shelby Lewis had a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds, Braylin Brunkhorst had nine points, Annie Robinson finished with six points, and Katie Carrico had five points and five rebounds. Harper Sontheimer added five rebounds.
The Lady Panthers took a 26-17 halftime lead over Brookfield (15-7, 1-2 CCC) following a 15-11 first quarter in their favor. They took further control in the second half after a 17-6 third quarter.
Centralia hosts Clarence Cannon foe Highland at 6 p.m. Friday before going to conference opponent Macon (6-12, 0-3 CCC) at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
