For the second straight Clarence Cannon Conference game, Centralia was pouring on the runs.

The Lady Panthers defeated Clark County 16-1 in four innings after routing South Shelby 18-1 on Monday. On the Lady Indians’ field, Centralia (5-2 CCC) finished with 20 hits — one shy of the season-high against South Shelby — with only two of them going for extra bases.

Six Lady Panthers finished with multiple hits, with Ellie Page leading the way by going 4-for-4 with two RBI. Jozelynn Bostick was 3-for-4 with three RBI, two stolen bases and a double, Madi Johnson finished 2-for-4 with two RBI, Meredith Wright drove in two runs and Autumn Hawkins went 3-for-5 with three runs and two stolen bases. Kaelyn Walters pitched all four innings while allowing four hits and an unearned run and striking out five.

Mackenzi Adkisson started the scoring in the first inning with a two-run double to help Centralia take a 3-0 lead that grew to 11-0 after two. After Bostick scored two on a double for her second RBI hit of the inning, 12 Lady Panthers dug in to hit in the second inning.

Walters being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the fourth inning gave Centralia the 15-run cushion to clinch the game early against Clark County (6-10, 0-5 CCC).

Centralia (13-9) hosts its softball tournament today at Nathan A. Toalson Bicentennial Park with the Lady Panthers’ first round opponent being Putnam County (7-10).
