Centralia teen makes Miss Missouri's top 12

Finals of the 15th Anniversary of the Miss Missouri’s Teen competition began Friday night with the announcement of the top 12.
 
Each delegate began the finals with a composite score, given by the judges, which accounts for 30% of the overall score.  The rest of the score consists of talent, 20%; health and fitness, 20%; evening gown, 20%; and on-stage conversation, 10%.
 
The top 12 were:
 
·        Miss Audrain’s Teen Caroline Moots of Macon. She is the daughter of Stacy and Eric Moots and is a recent graduate of Macon High School. Caroline will attend the University of Missouri-Columbia this fall. She performs a vocal for talent and chose “Girls Golf for Good” for her community service initiative.
 
·        Miss Columbia’s Teen Bridget Caldwell of Florissant. She is the daughter of Scott and Tara Caldwell. Bridget attends school at Duchesne High School. For her talent, she performs a tap dance and she chose “Bridge the Gap Between Youth and Heroes” as her community service initiative.
 
·        Miss Kansas City International’s Teen Ava Powers of Kansas City. She is the daughter of Abby and Joseph Powers. Ava attends school at Liberty North High School. For her talent, she performs a vocal and she chose “Protect Our Protectors” for her community service initiative.
 
·        Miss Kansas City’s Teen Christina Cox of Centralia. She is the daughter of Norman and Maria Cox. Christina attends school at David H. Hickman High School. For her talent, she performs a vocal and chose “Project Tool Belt” for her community service initiative.
 
·        Miss North Kansas City’s Teen Anna Hall of Branson. Anna is the daughter of Scott and Melissa Hall. She attends school at the School of the Ozarks. Anna performs a vocal for her talent and chose “Project Wallflower” for her community service initiative.
 
·        Miss Northwest’s Teen Mariah Turner of Kansas City. Mariah is the daughter of Erskine and Maude Turner. She is a student at St. Teresa Academy. For her talent, Mariah performs a vocal number. Her community service initiative is titled: “Making a Real Change”.
 
·        Miss Show Me State’s Teen Vegas Turner of Springfield. Vegas is a student at The Institute for American Musical Theatre. She is the daughter of Kerry Turner and Shawn Turner. Vegas performs a musical theatre dance for her talent. She advocates for “Dress Up Your Dreams” for her community service initiative.
 
·        Miss Southern Missouri’s Teen Olivia Carrow of Bonne Terre. She is the daughter of Aaron and Elizabeth Carrow. Olivia is a recent graduate of North County High School. For her talent, she performs a lyrical dance. Her community service initiative is “Compassion Into Action”.
 
·        Miss Spirit of St. Louis’ Teen Cyan Kelley of St. Louis. She is the daughter of Tracy Kelley and Kevin Kelley. Cyan attends Pattonville High School. She performs a musical theatre number for talent. For her community service initiative, she chose “SUNN- Serving Up Nutrition and Necessities”.
 
·        Miss Saint Charles County’s Teen Greta Clark of Eureka. She is the daughter of Patrick and Dana Clark. Greta is a recent graduate of Eureka High School. She performs a lyrical dance for her talent and advocates for “Empowering Youth to Strengthen Communities”.
 
·        Miss Texas County’s Teen Brylee Welch of Nixa. Brylee is the daughter of Bryan and Megan Welch and attends school at the Nixa High School. She performs a jazz dance for talent and chose “Care in Action” for her community service initiative.
 
Rounding out the Top 12 was the People’s Choice award, Miss Lewis and Clark’s Teen Anastasia Jones. She is the daughter of Paul Jones and Clarissa and Kevin Stokes of Henley. As the People’s Choice selection, Anastasia will receive a $750 scholarship. Anastasia attends Eugene Middle School. She plays the violin for her talent and chose “Read to Succeed- Making Literacy Accessible” for her community service initiative.
 
The Miss Missouri Scholarship Organization is one of the largest providers of scholarships to young women in the state. This year, the organization will award $85,000 in scholarships between the Miss and Outstanding Teen programs.
