It hasn’t taken long for the Community R-VI softball team’s offense to come to life.
In the Trojans’ first two games of the year, they have outscored their opponents 44-1.
In the season opener Sept. 3, they accumulated 18 hits in a 24-0 beating of Hermann and five days later pounded Pilot Grove 20-1.
In the opener, Emma Angel, Emmi Johnson and Brooklyn Glasgow each had three hits for Community. Sarah Angel and Olivia Kuda had two hits apiece in the win.
The Trojans took advantage of 16 walks in the Pilot Grove game. Olivia Schafer, McCailyn Drainer, Emma Angel and Sarah Angel each had singles.
On the mound, Emma Angel earned the win with six strikeouts in both games.
