Community R-6 didn't have enough to win Monday's pitcher's duel.
The Class 1 No. 6 Lady Trojans, who moved up three spots in the state rankings recently, lost 2-0 at Class 2 Montgomery County (17-5). Jocelyn Curtis pitched six innings with five hits, four walks, two runs and two strikeouts but lost the pitcher's duel with Montgomery's Reese Hill, who struck out five and allowed three hits and three walks in seven inning.
Those three hits came from a double by Amy McCurdy and singles by Paige Painter and Alyssa Beamer.
Community R-6 (20-6) plays at another Class 2 Eastern Missouri Conference foe at 5 p.m. tonight when they face Louisiana (12-9).
