A 28-year-old Mexico man suffered minor injuries when he lost control of a mini motorcycle while attempting to pass a school bus on Wednesday, April 19.
The driver, identified as Jason Rioux, did not require medical assistance. The accident occurred in the area of Boulevard and Calhoun streets around 3:13 p.m.
According to the Mexico Public Safety Department, the bus began to switch lanes and Rioux swerved to avoid a collision. His motorcycle then left the roadway.
MPSD reminds residents that it is illegal and unsafe to operate motorized play vehicles on streets. Motorized vehicles that can be legally operated on the streets can and should be licensed through the state or meet the definition of a moped or motorized bicycle.
