Elva Erselle Hiemstra, 80, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away Monday, August 31, 2020.
She was born November 22, 1939 in Hot Springs, Ark., to the late Haynes and Elva (Smith) Mathews. Erselle was a librarian with the Tri-lakes Library System where she worked with the Book Mobile in the 1980s. She later retired from the Garland County Community College Library. Elva was a member of Pullman Heights Baptist Church, the Arkansas/Louisiana Artist Guild, Hot Springs Artist Communities, Red Hat Society and the Daughters of the Confederacy.
Erselle is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Hiemstra; sister, Virginia Albinson; brother Marion Mathews; grandson Mathew Towell and nephew, Mark Albinson.
Survivors include her daughters, Roxanne Couch and Sheri Grim (Steve); grandchildren, Amanda Palmer (Brandon), Jason Campbell (Brandy) Elizabeth Simerly (Richard) and Nicholas Towell (Megan); great-grandchildren, Taylor Chitty Oxford, Austin Chitty, Daniel Campbell, Alexis Seger, Wesley Campbell, Kendra Towell, Dane Simerly, Londyn Simerly, Jaina Simerly, Kaylee Towell, Braxton Towell and Trinton Graham; and great-great grandchildren, Tyler Nicole Oxford, Kai Friely and Kohen Campbell.
