Kristie A. Steffen, 43, of Fulton, was transported to University Hospital at 2 p.m. for moderate injuries she sustained in a one-vehicle accident on Tuesday, Jan. 18 on Route JJ, north of Route UU, in Callaway County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occured when the southbound 2002 Mazda Tribute, driven by Steffen, failed to navigate a curve, causing her to travel off the right side of the roadway and strike a tree. The Tribute came to rest off the west side of the roadway, facing east. The Tribute was totaled and towed from the scene; Steffen was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
