Gary Lee "Squeak" Cummings

Gary Lee "Squeak" Cummings, 77, of Perry, passed away at 11:54 a.m., Monday, Jan. 9, 2023 at Hannibal Regional Hospital.

He was born on Feb. 28, 1945 in Leavenworth, Kan., the son of Hugh Cummings.

Gary married Tami Dunlap on Jan. 19, 1968 in Mexico, and she survives.

Other survivors include one son; Tommy Cummings of Mexico, five grandchildren; Christina Genovese, Whitney and Isabella Cummings, and Tyler and Logan Scheiner, and five great grandchildren; Hunter Cummings, Ericka Gilbert, Lillyona Baker, Jayden Jennings, and Maria Cox.

He was preceded in death by one son; Mac Cummings, his father; Hugh Cummings,  father in law and mother in law; Jim and Darlene Dunlap.

Gary served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. He would then start his career as an operating engineer proudly for International Union of Operating Engineers Local 513. After his retirement he owned and operated America's Top Choice Arms with his son Tommy. Gary was a member of the Perry VFW Post 4088, American Legion Post 510, Masons Lick Creek Lodge 660, and Local 513 retiree club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, drag racing, motorcycle riding but most of all was time spent with his family and friends. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Perry VFW Post 4088, in care of Bienhoff Funeral Home, P.O. Box 427, Perry, Missouri 63462.

The family will host a memorial service from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023 at the Perry VFW Post 4088 Hall. 

 Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Home.
