Glenn Allen Griffith

Glenn Allen Griffith, 84, of Kingdom City passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital, from complications of COVID-19 pneumonia.

He was born on Sept. 9, 1936 in New Madrid County to the late Ralph Edgar and Thelma Unola (Spinks) Griffith. The family moved from South East Prairie to Auxvasse in 1954.

Glenn graduated from Auxvasse High School in 1954. In March of 1957, Glenn married Jane Irene (Carr) Griffith. She survives his passing. Glenn worked at the brick plant refractory and Sweetheart Bakery in Mexico. He also sold GBH Homeway Homes and Advances Systems, pre-cut homes, in the 1970s. Glenn took pride in being a lifetime farmer, growing row crops and tending a herd of cattle. He always took time to visit and meet new people. He enjoyed traveling and learning about everything.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jane of Kingdom City; daughters, Glenda Jurgesmeyer (Dicky) of Mexico, and Annette Lamberson of Auxvasse; grandson, Nate Lamberson (Kelsey) of Auxvasse; great-grandsons, Cason Glenn and Tatum Hub Lamberson; sisters, Anna Lee Heisner (Robert) of Metropolis, Ill.., and Ruth Lindemann (Hank) of Steedman; one niece; and many nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Griffith of Sturgeon; one nephew; and one niece.
