A line of duty funeral procession makes its way down Clark Street Monday afternoon. The funeral was held in honor of Richard Allen Wright, 61, of Mexico, who passed away on Thursday, Nov. 19, at Hannibal Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Monday at Arnold Funeral Home with Bob Stanford officiating with burial in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Multiple districts, including the Mexico Public Safety and Columbia departments turned out to pay their respect. Wright was a 1978 graduate of Mexico High School and had worked for Stuart Miller at the Audrain County Sheriff’s Department until working several years for Robinson Oil. Richard spent the last 15 years as a corrections officer for WERDCC in Vandalia and served over 20 years with the Little Dixie Fire Protection District, retiring as lieutenant. Memorial donations may be made to the Little Dixie Shrine Club. They may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
