Jacqueline “Jackie” Yvette Nunnelly, 57, of Mexico, received her wings on May 6, 2021, at her home surrounded by family and friends.

Jackie was born on March 17, 1964, the daughter of the late Butler Creed and Jean Lorette (Thomas) Nunnelly, Sr.

She graduated from Mexico High School in 1982 and attended Lincoln University in Jefferson City. She started as a caregiver in Springfield, Ill. and continued in Missouri. She was a member of St. Luke UMC of Mexico, and also attended Second Christian Church of Jefferson City, and Oak Chapel of Guthrie. She never met a stranger, to know her was to LOVE and never forget her.

Left to cherish her memories are two daughters, Tareka (Texas) and Takia (St. Louis); one son, Douglas Jr. (Texas); and eight grandchildren, Samiya, Keasia, Rahmia, Abriel, Emani, Elijah, Douglas III, and Kmarea. She was very actively involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also survived by five sisters, Judy, Gweneth, Lanette, Alice and Marylus (Kenneth); six brothers, Rodney, William (Ruth), Butler Jr. (Myra), James (Zelia), Daniel and Conrad; an aunt, Betty (Mike); and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Marsha Kay, Tonnette and Elizabeth; two brothers, Howard and Hakeem (Chuckie); one nephew, one niece, two great-nephews and one great-niece.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 14, at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Marion Mitchell officiating. A viewing is Friday from noon until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
