Judy Elaine (Dennis) Barela, 75 passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer at her residence with her husband Roger and son Tony by her side.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the Glendale Memorial Gardens in Centralia. The burial procession will travel by The Stuart House and family and friends are encouraged to be present at the facility to honor her legacy.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home in Centralia.
A Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Judy was born to the late Thomas Glen and Leta (Adams) Dennis on October 17, 1949, in Higbee, MO.
During her travels she visited many parishes but called the Holy Spirit home. She developed a special relationship with Father Thomas Babu of Reno, NV that she cherished.
She married Roger Barela in 1988 in Reno, NV. They moved to Centralia and operated The Stuart House until her retirement in 2015. Yuma, AZ became their winter destination.
Her grandkids were the light and joy of her life and spending time with them was the best.
She is survived by her husband Roger, her sons, Tony Stuart (McKenzie) of Centralia, Dean Stuart (Kristine) of Gilbert, AZ, Brandon Barela (Cathy) of Reno, NV, daughter, Megan Penn, (Kenny) of Reno, NV; grandchildren, Clayton Stuart (Kara) of Ankeny, IA, Tanner Stuart of Scottsdale, AZ, Zoe Crosby of Reno, NV, Kamdyn Steffen and Jaspyr Wisdom of Centralia; brothers, Michael Dennis of Conroe, TX, J.D. Dennis of Moberly, Sam Dennis of Clark, Bobby Murray of California; sisters, Suzanne Rowley (Gary) of Knoxville, IA, Marcia Weiner (Billy) of Reno, NV, Shirley Jones of California; sisters-in-law, Linda Dennis and Dora Dennis of Higbee; many nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Joe Bill, Ronnie, Johnnie, Tommy Dennis and Harold Murray; sisters, Joanne, Dianne Dennis, Wynette Norfleet, Jeanette Clayton, Wanda Robinson, and Betty Ellis; daughter Emily Barela, Reno, NV.
