A six year old child hiding under a pickup truck suffered serious injuries when the truck began to back up.
The accident happened Tuesday evening just after 5:45 p.m. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the boy was under a parked 2008 Ford F150. The truck’s owner, Michael Klug, 41, of Vandalia, was unaware of the child’s presence and backed out, striking the child.
The child was life flighted to University Hospital in Columbia by Air Evac.
