Kathlene "Kathy" Diane Eskew, 60, of Mexico, passed away Sept. 9, 2021 at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday Sept. 18, at New Testament Christian Church 404 S. Main St. Auxvasse. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Kathy was born on May 17, 1961 in Mexico, the daughter of Donald Lewis "Festus" Eskew and Diana Joan (Tate) Eskew. She graduated from Mexico Senior High School in 1980.
Kathy was known for her kind and loving heart. She loved animals, cooking, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and taking care of those she loved.
Kathy was born with an inoperable heart defect which also affected her lungs. Ever since she was a baby she was strong-willed and determined. She wasn't expected to live to three, then to 30. She was blessed to have lived to be 60. Her health struggles were real, but with her positive attitude, perseverance and stubbornness she lived her life to the fullest she could. Anyone who met her will remember her smile, laugh and kind heartedness.
Survivors include her long-time friend and companion, Clarence Spires of Mexico; her mother, Diana Eskew of Mexico; her sister, Karen Eskew of Mexico; a half-sister Jessica Eskew; several aunts, uncles, cousins and also several knitting group friends and church friends.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Donald Lewis "Festus" Eskew.
