Kenneth Wayne “Ken” George, 85, of Mexico, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Heritage Hall Nursing Center in Centralia.
Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Thursday, August 22, at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Bryce Kristofferson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation is Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Ken George, born on December 29, 1938, in Mexico, was the son of Harold and Wastella (Johnson) George. A graduate of Mexico High School, he also served as a U.S. Army veteran. Professionally, he worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Ken had a variety of interests, including gold mining, building kit cars, and outdoor activities like fishing.
Survivors include his companion, Judy Donaldson of Mexico; two sons, Kevin George of Texas and Greg George of Kansas City; one grandchild, Ashlyn George; Judy’s children, Kim (Kerry) Nichols of Knoxville, Tenn., Kerri (Jason) Donaldson Hanna of Orlando, Fla., and Kelly (Emily) Donaldson of Mexico; Judy’s grandsons, James Donaldson, Liam Donaldson, and Kayde Donaldson; Judy’s granddaughters, Karys Nichols and Keira Nichols; and one sister-in-law, Mary Frances George of Kan.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Wastella George; two brothers, Harold Lloyd George and Curtis George; and two sisters, Mary Lou Wilson and Mildred “Mille” Penn.
