To assist with grounds improvement projects at the Callaway Youth Expo (CYE) Fairgrounds, Kingdom Telephone donated and installed a new Sound System for the Rodeo Arena! This savings of nearly $12,000 will allow the CYE to move forward with our next building project- a new concession stand.
“We were completely surprised when Shawn Gilman, plant telecom network manager of Kingdom Telephone Company & Phynx Fiber came to our CYE meeting on March 23 and announced that Kingdom Telephone planned to design and install a new sound system at the fairgrounds,” said Stacie Smithee, CYE board president. “The previous system was over 30 years old and a couple poles were destroyed by a storm last fall, so it was in the budget to replace this year. With this generous donation, we can allocate that money to the new building project. We’ll be able to use this new sound system at the horse shows, the fair, and of course, the Auxvasse Rodeo!”
The CYE Fairgrounds hosts a variety of events each summer including a Swine Jackpot Show, May 27 the Youth Fair July 11-15, and the Auxvasse Rodeo Aug. 4-5.
