A 12-year-old juvenile riding a bicycle was seriously injured when the bike was struck by a pickup truck on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident happened shortly after 3:15 p.m. at the corner of Walnut and Sixth streets. Officers report that a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Blake T. Lehnen of Wellsville hit the bike, causing serious injuries to the juvenile.
The juvenile was transported to Audrain Community Hospital by ambulance. The Silverado received minor damage and was driven from the scene; the bicycle received extensive damage.
