For the third straight time, Centralia is the Centralia Invitational tournament champion.
The Class 3 No. 2 and No. 1 seed Lady Panthers (19-4) won their home tournament for the third straight year while outscoring their three opponents 41-3, winning 16-1 against Hannibal (5-21), 13-2 against Kirksville (14-9) and 12-0 against Clarence Cannon Conference foe Macon (17-12). Madi Johnson walked four times and scored three times against Macon but picked up her 150th career hit in the previous game against Kirksville. She went 3-for-6 with four RBIs, four runs, one home run and one double in the first two games against Hannibal and Kirksville. Jaylynn Brown struck out 22 in 10 innings pitched, and Brooklyn Hardin struck out in four innings against Hannibal. Cora King, Kassena Ridgel and Brown collected four, five and seven RBIs, respectively, in the three games.
Centralia hosts Class 2 No. 7 North Callaway (18-9) at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
