Class 3 No. 2 Centralia 12 Class 3 No. 4 Chillicothe 3 in Chillicothe
Two of the top four teams in Class 3 faced each other on Tuesday, and Centralia (15-4) emerged the victor against Chillicothe (19-7) on the road. The Lady Panthers won their fifth of their seven games in the past week, coming back from an early three-run deficit with a nine-run fifth inning. One night after Senior Night, seniors Kassena Ridgel and Madi Johnson hit home runs as Ridgel went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and one double and Johnson went 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Their fellow senior Cora King finished 2-for-5 with two RBIs, and Claire Page had two RBIs.
Jaylynn Brown struck out in 14 and allowed three unearned runs on two hits and two walks in seven innings.
Centralia (4-0 CCC) hosts Clarence Cannon Conference foe Clark County (7-11, 1-2 CCC) at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Monroe City 16 Community R-6 5 in five innings in Laddonia
Community R-6's losing streak was extended to four games and its home losing streak moved to four games with a loss to Class 2 Monroe City (10-6). The Lady Trojans (9-18) allowed their second-most runs of the season after committing eight errors that gave way to 10 unearned runs. Maci Poindexter finished 3-for-3 with one RBI, Lydia Hoyt had two RBIs, and Peyton Schafer and Kaytlynn Arens each had a double.
Jocelyn Curtis pitched two innings with six hits and two strikeouts and all of her seven runs were unearned. Myla Carroll allowed six hits and three walks in three innings and three of her nine runs were unearned.
Community R-6 plays at Van-Far (5-12) at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Silex 9 Van-Far 0 in Silex
Van-Far (5-12, 3-4 EMO) was shut out for third time this season and for the first time since Sept. 6. The Lady Indians' only hit against Eastern Missouri Conference foe Silex (13-8, 6-2 EMO) was a single by Kylee Gibson. Adyson Barnett allowed 13 hits and two walks and three of her nine runs allowed in six innings were unearned.
Van-Far hosts conference foe and Class 2 No. 5 Montgomery County (20-1, 7-0 EMO) at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Fayette 3 Class 2 No. 10 Paris 1 in Fayette
For the first time this season, Paris (16-1) has lost a game. The Lady Coyotes outhit Fayette 6-2 but an infield error on a bunt play in the third inning eventually allowed Fayette (10-10) to clear the bases. Raygen Crum went 2-for-3, and Katie Cummins had a double.
Ava Crain pitched six innings with nine strikeouts, two hits and two walks and all of her three runs were unearned.
Paris (4-0 L&C) hosts Lewis and Clark Conference foe Westran (10-8, 2-2 L&C) at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Southern Boone 5 Mexico 0 in Mexico
Mexico's losing streak extended to six games with a loss to Class 2 District 4 foe Southern Boone (9-4). The Eagles had a 4-0 halftime lead, and then Miles Butler scored his fourth goal.
Mexico (3-8) plays at district foe and crosstown rival Missouri Military Academy (5-3) at 5 p.m. Thursday. The teams have alternated wins in the previous seven meetings, with Mexico losing last year 6-1 on Chris Hotop Field.
Class 2 No. 15 Kirksville 4 Missouri Military Academy 1 in Kirksville
Missouri Military Academy (5-3) lost its first game within the district at Kirksville (7-2). Fernando Puebla had MMA's only goal, Luis Rey made nine saves and Eric Shellabarger had six steals.
MMA hosts another Class 2 District 4 foe Mexico (3-8) in a crosstown matchup at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Fall baseball
New Franklin 9 Community R-6 0 in New Franklin
Community R-6 (7-5) was shut out for the first time in the fall season at Central Activities Conference rival New Franklin (10-3). Three New Franklin pitchers combined to allow six hits and struck out seven. Six Trojans each had one hit, including Lane Carter to go with his two stolen bases.
Community plays at Jamestown (3-4) at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
