Police say an intoxicated driver with a suspended license drove through a traffic signal and caused an accident on Sunday evening. While detained he reportedly assaulted an officer.
According to Mexico Public Safety Department reports, Devin Frenandez, 29 of Mexico, entered the intersection of Boulevard and Muldrow with his 2010 Nissan, where he collided with a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado being driven by Serena Bosworth, 39 of Mexico.
During the investigation, officers found evidence that Fernandez was impaired. He was arrested and transported to MPSD where he allegedly assaulted an officer.
Fernandez was taken to the Audrain County Jail for failure to obey traffic control device, driving while revoked, driving while intoxicated, operating a vehicle without financial responsibility, possession of marijuana and assault, fourth degree-special victim.
There were no injuries from the incident.
