Trey and Chase Burle combined for nine wins. Seth Stevenson added four and Zilynn Love two, all of which added up to a good day for the Mexico Marlins swim team at the Mid Missouri Championships.
The Burle brothers were part of the mixed 200 freestyle relay team, along with Love and Katherine O’Loughlin, that took gold. Chase Burle topped the podium in the 100 meter individual medley for 10 and under boys and the 9-10 boys 25 meter backstroke, finishing just ahead of Stevenson. He also captured the 25 meter butterfly event.
Another win came in the 100 meter medley relay with Austin Duff, Avery Sharpe and Gabriel Marquette.
Trey Burle won the 11-12 100 meter individual medley and the 50 meter butterfly. He tacked on another victory in the 50 meter breastroke. And he teamed with Love, Stevenson and O’Loughlin to claim first in the 200 meter mixed medley relay event.
Stevenson added individual wins in the the boys 9-10 25 meter freestyle, as well as the 25 meter breaststroke. With Duff, Marquette and Sharpe he hoisted gold in the 100 meter freestyle relay.
Teams from across central Missouri participated in the July 17 championship, hosted by the Fairgrounds Aquatic Center.
In addition to his relay wins, Duff finished third in the 10 and under 100 individual medley.
Love took bronze in the 50 meter backstroke and earned a top five in the girls 50 meter freestyle, as well as another in the 50 butterfly.
Logan Sharpe third 6 and under 25 backstroke and second in the butterfly. Meanwhile Avery Sharpe nabbed fourth in the girls 25 breaststroke.
O’Loughlin earned silver behind Jefferson City’s Frances Grellner in the girls 13-14 50 meter breaststroke. Another Burle -- Aubrie -- picked up bronze for her effort in the 25 butterfly.
