The Mexico carried a six-point halftime lead and a two-point advantage after the third quarter at home against Father Tolton, or the fifth-best team in Class 4 according to recent state polls. Tolton ended up winning 68-62 behind the 28 combined second-half points from guards James Lee and Zay Wilson.
Mexico's guards led the Bulldogs as Jordan Shelton and DJ Long combined for 35 points, and Anthony Shivers added 12 points.
