Eighth grader Lady Bulldog Charlee Allen notched a top-10 finish Tuesday as the Mexico Middle School Invitational held at Green Estates Park.
The day belonged to Southern Boone, as their runners led the way in both the boys and girls races. Brian Burns took first for the boys with a time of 11:55.74. Lady Eagles runners claimed six of the top 10 slots, with Mae Walker (13:33.63) taking first; Ava Lieninger (14:04.51), second; and Frances Grellner (14:42.46), third.
For the Mexico Bulldogs, Damien Frame finished 12th, clocking in at 13:11.95. Jhett Maxwell finished 19th at 13:36.09.
Here’s how the rest of the Bulldogs fared: Andrew Puester (15:50.10), 41st; Boston Davolt (15:55.85), 43rd; Skylar Shaw (16:43.01), 51st. The Bulldogs took sixth as a team with a total time of 1:15:17 and an average time of 15:03.40.
Southern Boone took first with a team time of 1:04:00.96 and an average time of 12:48.20.
Allen led the Lady Bulldogs, taking eighth overall with a time of 15:17.84. Abby Bowen took 15th at 15:57.97, and Jordan Wyman finished 22nd at 16:26.95.
Rounding out the Lady Dogs effort were Alexandria Terry (17:42.68), 34th; Ellie Gard (19:45.10), 44th; and Kiya Smith (19:55.95), 47th. As a team, the Lady Bulldogs finished fourth with a team time of 1:24:36.72 and an average time of 16:55.35.
Southern Boone took first with a collective time of 1:12:50.55 and a 14:34.11 average.
Two runners represented Mexico in the mixed race, with Zellen Duncan taking 20th (19:45.13) and Matthew Pfeifer finishing 21st (19:48.47).
Next up is the Centralia Invitational, slated for Tuesday.
