The Mexico Middle School hosted a sports award banquet on Wednesday, Jan. 4. Wrestlers, cheerleaders and basketball players were honored.
The 7th grade basketball team put up a 12-1 record on the season and were coached by Logan Schlemmer and Jason Fowler.
Receiving the defensive player of the year award was Brysen Hammers.
Offensive player of the year Kyler Benne.
The heart and hustle award went to Ryland Renaud.
Most improved player of the year-Jerian Evans.
Kobe's favorite player of the year was Quincy Bruce.
The managers were Braden Lunsford and Demarion Williams.
