A 17 year old female from Mexico was seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident in the morning of Aug. 31. The accident occurred on Missouri Highway 151, four miles north of Madison, in Monroe County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 17 year old was an occupant in a northbound 2011 Dodge Durango driven by a 16 year old female, of Clarence, that ran off the right side of the road and overturned, ejecting the 17 year old from the vehicle.
The minor was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was transported to University Hospital. The Durango was totaled and towed from the scene.
