The opening of the Mexico city pool is just a couple of weeks away and the parks and recreation staff have been getting ready which include setting some new policies for parties and gatherings.
Parks and Recreation Program Director Seth Cooke told park board members last week that changes have been made to the rental deck area for birthday parties. Last year part of the deck was fenced off with six tables for parties. Cooke said the fence has been removed and the far two tables can now be reserved from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. for parties.
“We didn’t see a lot of use from that last summer and we thought the space would be better utilized with more deck space for people to sit,” Cooke said.
Those reserving space for parties will be allowed to bring in a cake or ice cream cake for their party.
The pool opens Saturday, May 27 at 11 a.m.
