Mexico Public Safety officers were dispatched to two residential fires Wednesday afternoon and early Thursday morning.
The first fire was on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 4:03 p.m. in the 700 block of West Buchanan. According to the press release the first arriving officers found smoke coming from the attic. The fire was extinguished with damage to the first floor, and smoke throughout the home. Public Safety reports the fire appeared to have started in the kitchen. No injuries were reported.
Mexico Public Safety officers responded to another residential fire on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 12:23 a.m. in the 2700 block of South Clark. The first arriving officers were able to locate smoke and fire in the attic. The fire was extinguished with damage to the attic and ceiling of the home. The fire appeared to have started with the wiring in the attic. There were no injuries reported.
