Christine Harper has been named the director of communications for the Mexico School District.
Harper is currently a teacher for the North Callaway Public School District. She has been with North Callaway for the last seven years, where she has served as an assistant principal and English teacher at North Callaway High School.
The Bulldog way is not new to Harper. She served from 2008 to 2014 as the principal at Eugene Field Elementary School. She has been in education for a total of 24 years.
“I am honored to be serving Mexico Public Schools again,” Harper said. “In the last 24 years, I have been a part of different school districts but never moved from Mexico. I always wondered why. Well, I raised a son here, my family is here, my closest friends are here. It’s home."
Holding certification in grade 5-12 English, and 9-12 speech and drama, Harper earned her master’s degree in administration from William Woods University. She also holds a master’s in curriculum and instruction from Lesley University.
Harper will officially start as director of communications on July 1.
