Those are the words from incoming Eugene Fields Elementary principal, Dr. Robert Allen Miles. Mexico School District 59 administration and board of education have announced Miles as the incoming principal for the school for the 2021-22 school year.
Miles is currently an assistant principal for Columbia Public Schools. He has served Columbia Public Schools as an assistant principal for five years. Previously, he taught elementary art for 17 years in Fulton.
Miles completed his bachelor of fine arts and a master’s in education from Phillips University. He received his specialist in education and doctorate in education from William Woods University.
He is married to Jennifer, who is a former Kansas City resident and currently an ER nurse at Fulton Medical Center. They are parents to four children: Saffron, freshman at Kansas City Art Institute; Max, freshman in high school; Grace, sophomore in high school; and Spencer, eighth grader. His hobbies include reading, making pottery, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Miles will officially step into his position at Eugene Field on July 1.
